OHHHH.....OMAHA!

Gregg had a convention with the company he does his investments through in Omaha, Nebraska. (Securities America). It was the 25th anniversary of the company so they wanted everyone to come to Omaha to see headquarters. I looked at the schedule and it seemed strange that Gregg would be in meetings all day long. In years past...they usually quit around 2 or 3 in the afternoon for a few hours of free time before dinner. After walking around the area where we were I realized that there really isn't that much to do there in Omaha so maybe that is why they didn't give them any free time!! I had fun exploring though! I walked across the largest pedestrian bridge to the neighboring state of Iowa!! There was the Lewis and Clark Tail and they happened to have a sand castle contest that weekend right by the Qwest center where all the meetings were held. It was fun to walk over and see the amazing things people can do with sand!!! Gregg decided to skip out of one of the mornings meetings and we rented a car and went to Council Bluffs, Iowa where the Kanesville Tabernacle is where Brigham Young was ordained Prophet. Then we went to Winter Quarters right there in Omaha. It was fun to be able to see some more church history sights! The Winter Quarters Temple is really small. I was hoping to be able to do a session but it isn't open very many hours during the week. Maybe next time. I went to a couple of the guest speakers they had....the first one was Chris Gardner...the author or Pursuit of Happyness. A true story about his life being homeless and how he worked hard to overcome it. If you haven't seen the movie you need to see it...it is really good! Then the next speaker was Colin Powell...I wasn't sure if I wanted to hear him speak he has been such a strange one the past year or so but I went and it was really good...he didn't get political...which was very good!! One night we went to SA headquarters and got a tour of their new office space then had a tailgate party in the parking lot with a yummy barbeque and fun games to play. The next night they took us to Henry Doorly Zoo to eat with the animals! (Glad the animals didn't eat us!!) They had different kind of tasty treats in several venues such as The Rain Forest, The Aquarium where we ate with sharks swimming around us, The Desert Dome and Gorilla Valley. It was pretty cool!! The next night they picked us up in a Limo Bus (never heard of them, but they are for real!) and took us over for a private show with the Omaha Symphony and fancy dinner. It's kind of fun to live the life of the rich and famous!! ha ha It really was a fun trip! It's always fun to see something new! It would have been more fun if Gregg wasn't stuck in meetings all day!!

Looks like you both had fun living the rich and famous life even if it was only for a week. Those sand art sculptures were amazing. We miss you guys!
