We had a Very Merry Christmas and thought that the engagement of Mike and Jessica was a good enough thrill for the holidays....that is until tonight! We went Alan and Lisa's for salad, pizza and chocolate fondue. Brad and the cousins were playing Rock Band 2 when Alan called everyone over for some dessert. As everyone was digging in, Brad casually declared "I have an announcement to make... I got my mission call today and I am going to the Chile Santiago West Mission on March 11th". We were speechless and shocked to say the least. He has kept this totally secret, he even had his mission call sent to our good friend President Murphy's house. The call was dated on my (Pat's) birthday...how cool is that???!! And it came in the mail today. Brad got up early to take Mike to the Airport and came home and slept for a couple of hours when he got the call from the Murphy's that he had a package waiting for him.
He hasn't been able to sleep since!!
What are the odds of a boy being called to serve in the same area his father served. Gregg served in what was then the Chile Santiago South Mission. We are still in shock. We can't believe that Brad has kept this all under wraps....what a stinker!! That is so Brad!! He says that it is his gift to Christ this Christmas season! What better gift is that???
WAY TO GO BRAD!!
WE ARE SO EXCITED YOU HAVE MADE THIS DECISION IN YOUR LIFE
AND YOU ARE WORTHY & WILLING TO SERVE!!
WE LOVE YOU!!!

CONGRATULATIONS Brad! We are absolutely thrilled and proud of you. That is so awesome. And way to go giving your parents some aerobic exercise for their heart! We sure love you Brad.
Greetings from Ethiopia! We are excited to have another "son" join the missionary force...President Monson must not have gotten our phone call that we wanted you sent to us in the Uganda Kampala mission! The people in Chile are fortunate to have you. We love you!
Congratulations to Brad! What a great calling - and how incredible that he will be serving in the same area Uncle Gregg served! Very cool!
